Classrooms ready before the first bell
A school day leaves its marks everywhere: crayon on tabletops, sand by the cubbies, fingerprints on every low window and a lunch’s worth of crumbs under the chairs. Our evening visits clear all of it, so teachers walk into rooms that are ready for learning and parents see a building that is plainly looked after.
Each plan is written room by room during a free walkthrough with your director or facilities lead. We note which rooms hold the youngest children, where the sinks and changing tables are, which spaces double as after-school rooms and when the building is finally empty. That list becomes the order of work for every visit. Directors get one point of contact for changes, so a new classroom, a moved nap area or a holiday closure is added to the plan with a quick call or email.
Oakland schools and early learning centers
Oakland’s education buildings span every era. Private and charter schools fill older brick campuses, former churches and converted commercial buildings, while preschools often run from bungalows, storefronts and the ground floors of mixed-use buildings.
That variety shapes the work. A hillside campus has long outdoor walkways that carry leaves and dirt into the halls, a childcare center in a converted storefront has one entry that takes every footstep, and a downtown preschool may share its building with offices upstairs. We fit the routine to the building you have.
Rooms where young children play, eat and rest
Early learning rooms get the closest attention. Tabletops and chairs are wiped, low shelves and cubbies are dusted, handwashing sinks and counters are cleaned, and floors are vacuumed under the play rugs and mopped where snacks are served. Nap rooms are vacuumed and their surfaces wiped, and changing stations are cleaned on every visit.
Toys and learning materials are handled the way your staff prefers. Your staff can keep that task in-house while we care for the room around them, or toy and mat wiping can join the task list. Either way, products are chosen with little hands in mind and stored away from children’s areas.
Restrooms, kitchens and shared halls
Student and staff restrooms are cleaned fixture by fixture, with paper and soap restocked from our supplies or yours. Kitchens and lunch areas get counters, sinks, tables and floors cleaned after the last meal, and trash and recycling go out every night so nothing lingers into the morning.
Hallways, offices, the front reception desk and the multipurpose room round out each visit. Gym and assembly floors are dust-mopped, entry mats are vacuumed and door glass at the main entrance is cleaned, because that is where families form their first impression at drop-off.
Planned around the school calendar
Routine cleaning starts after dismissal and after-school programs wrap up, usually in the evening, so it never competes with class time. Weekend visits suit schools that host Saturday enrichment or want a quiet window for heavier tasks.
Summer, winter and spring breaks are when the deep work happens. Carpet extraction through our commercial carpet cleaning service, hard-floor scrubbing and refinishing through commercial floor care, high dusting and full restroom detailing are booked for those weeks, so the building starts each term looking its best. Our cleaners are background checked, and building access, alarm steps and lock-up are kept on file.
What school and daycare cleaning costs in Oakland
Schools and childcare centers in Oakland typically pay $0.13 to $0.22 a square foot each month for five evenings a week, close to or a little below the city’s office band. Large campuses with long corridors price lowest, near $0.09, while small centers with many restrooms, changing stations and a kitchen climb toward $0.30. Seasonal deep cleaning during breaks commonly adds 15 to 25 percent to the year’s budget. Those figures reflect 2026 published market rates for school cleaning.
Example: a 6,000-square-foot preschool, cleaned five evenings a week at $0.21 a square foot, comes to about $1,260 a month. Building size, the number of restrooms and sinks, kitchen use, carpet versus hard floors, after-school hours and the break-week task list set your price. We visit, walk every room and send a written quote.
A few useful answers
Common questions.
Can cleaning start after our after-school program leaves?
Yes. The visit begins once the last program wraps up and the building is empty, whether that is at 6 p.m. or later in the evening.
Are the people cleaning our school background checked?
Yes. Every cleaner who works in your school is background checked.
What gets done during summer and winter breaks?
Breaks are used for carpet extraction, hard-floor scrubbing and refinishing, high dusting and detailed restroom work, so rooms are fresh for the new term.
Do you wipe toys and nap mats?
If you want it, yes. Toy and mat wiping can be added to the task list, or your staff can keep it and we care for the rest of the room.
Can you clean a preschool that shares a building with offices?
Yes. The preschool and the office suites each get their own task list on one schedule, with the childcare rooms cleaned to their own routine.
