Every member walks in as a customer

A coworking space sells the room itself. Members pay for a desk they never had to furnish and a kitchen they never have to scrub, and a prospective member decides during a ten-minute tour whether the place feels looked after. Crumbs on a hot desk, a phone booth that still smells of yesterday’s lunch or an overflowing recycling bin beside the coffee bar can put off a prospective member before the tour reaches the front desk.

We clean the whole floor as one plan: the entry and front desk, open desking, dedicated desks and private offices, phone booths and focus rooms, meeting and conference rooms, the member kitchen and coffee bar, lounges, the event room, mail and print stations, restrooms, and any showers or bike storage. Each area gets its own tasks and timing, set down in writing after a free walkthrough with your community or operations manager.

Resetting shared desks for the next person

Hot desks change hands every day, sometimes several times a day. On each visit, crews wipe the cleared tops of unassigned desks, then the armrests, lamp switches, monitor mounts, the power and charging points built into the furniture, and the keyboards and mice that belong to the space. Dedicated desks and private offices follow whatever rule you agree with members: some want trash, recycling and floors only, others want surfaces wiped wherever papers have been cleared. Laptops, chargers, mugs and notebooks are left untouched.

Phone booths and focus rooms are small, closed and booked back to back, so they collect fingerprints and stale air fast. Crews wipe the door pull, the shelf or ledge, the glass and any wipeable seat, vacuum the floor and empty the small bin every booth somehow acquires. Meeting rooms get tables wiped, whiteboards cleaned when they are free of notes, chairs tucked back in, and screens, remotes and conference phones wiped down.

The kitchen and coffee bar carry the reputation

The member kitchen is the busiest room in most spaces and the one people talk about. Counters, sinks and backsplashes are cleaned, the brewer or espresso machine exterior is wiped along with the counter beneath it, microwave interiors are cleaned, refrigerator handles and doors are wiped, and the floor under the coffee station, where drips land all day, is mopped. Dishwashers can be loaded or emptied when your plan includes it, and the crew separates landfill, recycling and compost before the bags head to the enclosure.

Operators who would rather skip the store run can add our pantry restocking service, which keeps coffee, snacks and drinks on the shelf to a list you approve. Restroom paper, hand soap, sanitizer and can liners can arrive the same way, supplied by us, or the crew can fill dispensers from stock you already keep.

Late nights, weekends and doors that never lock

Member hours shape the schedule. A space that closes at night gets its full clean after the last member leaves, so the floor opens fresh in the morning. A space with round-the-clock access gets a late-night route that works zone by zone, leaving a quiet section open for anyone still at a desk, and crews keep voices and equipment low near members on calls.

A day porter covers the busy middle of the day: clearing the coffee bar, reloading the kitchen, checking restrooms after lunch and straightening the lounge before a scheduled tour. Weekend visits suit spaces that run Saturday workshops or rent the event room on Sundays.

Event nights and the morning after

Mixers, talks, product launches and outside rentals usually happen in the evening, and they leave a room that members should never have to see. Share the event calendar and the crew arrives once the guests are gone to stack and wipe chairs, clear and wipe tables, empty every bin, clean the kitchen and the restrooms guests used, and vacuum or mop the floor. When an event runs past midnight, the reset can move to the early morning instead, finished before the first member badges in.

Floors, glass and the open-plan look

Coworking floors mix materials: carpet tile under the desks, sealed concrete in converted lofts, wood-look vinyl in lounges and tile in kitchens and restrooms. Routine visits vacuum and mop each one the right way, and periodic carpet extraction lifts the coffee drips and walking paths that vacuuming leaves behind. Hard floors can be machine scrubbed, and tired VCT can be stripped and given new finish coats.

Glass walls around offices and booths make a space feel open until they fill with handprints. Crews spot-clean interior glass on every visit and detail it on a rotation, along with the entry doors and the front desk partition.

Where coworking sits in Oakland

Oakland’s coworking spaces turn up in several kinds of buildings: full floors in downtown and Uptown office towers, converted warehouse lofts near the waterfront and in West Oakland with high ceilings and bare concrete, and smaller storefront spaces on neighborhood commercial streets. A tower floor works within the building’s after-hours access and freight elevator rules. A loft needs dust kept off high ledges and its concrete scrubbed now and then. A storefront needs its entry glass and floor mats watched closely. The plan is written for your building, and our office cleaning page covers the private suites some operators lease alongside the shared floor.

Anyone we send has passed a background check before receiving a key card or door code. Our coverage includes insurance, bonding and workers’ compensation. Your operations lead receives a certificate of insurance for the landlord’s file. A supervisor’s quality inspections cover the space on a regular rotation, and the findings come straight to you, from a sticky booth door to a lounge lamp that has burned out.

A few useful answers

Common questions.

Will your crew be on the floor during member hours?

Only if you want daytime help, through a day porter or a midday visit. Daytime tasks stay quiet: kitchen resets, restroom checks, trash and spot cleaning. Vacuuming and mopping of the main floor happen after hours or in zones nobody is using.

What happens to desks that have members' belongings on them?

Crews clean around them. Clear, unassigned desks get a full wipe, and dedicated desks and private offices follow the rules you set, which go into the written plan.

Our members have 24-hour access. When would you clean?

In the quietest hours your door data shows, usually late night or very early morning, working one zone at a time so members always have somewhere to sit.

Can you reset the event room after a late event?

Yes. Send the event dates and the room is reset the same night, or at dawn when an event runs very late.

What should we have ready for a quote?

A floor plan or a quick tour, your member hours, the event calendar, and whether you want pantry restocking or supplies included. The walkthrough is free and the quote comes in writing.
